Monteci,

five generations of winemaking evolution.

Many years ago, in Valpolicella, we were known as Monteci, a nickname we chose for our winery to honour our deep and intimate bond with our land and heritage.

Storia

For generations, we have passed down the art of viticulture, our passion for the land, and our dedication to winemaking. This legacy has given rise to the Monteci wine collection—an authentic balance between tradition and modern techniques, purity and research, typicity and innovation. Each label tells the story of a generous and fertile land, filled with enchanting and surprising landscapes.

Monteci: our big family

1925

The Foundation

The farm that would become the future Monteci winery is born. In its early years, the business focuses on fruit production and livestock farming. Viticulture, as in the rest of Valpolicella, is still in its infancy.

1964

A New Beginning

Our grandparents Giovanni and Dalia purchase the first plots of land in Sion, in Arcè di Pescantina, where they relocate the family business, laying the foundation for what would become Monteci Winery. These lands, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills, are fertile thanks to the gentle waters of the Adige River.

1995

The First Vineyards In Valpolicella Classica

The acquisition of ten hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella Classica allows for the expansion and development of Amarone and Ripasso production. The new generation of the Righetti Family lays the groundwork for further growth, developing new production and business divisions.

1999

Costa Delle Corone, A Qualitative Leap

Monteci expands with the acquisition of land in the nearby Costa delle Corone area, destined to become home to its prestigious Monteci Selection wines. The exceptional quality of the grapes grown in this high-altitude vineyard highlights the elegance and excellence of Valpolicella Classica.

2000

Amarone, A Turning Point

The year 2000 marks a new era for the Righetti family. With the first bottle of Amarone from the 1997 vintage, destined for export, Monteci reaps the rewards of years of hard work, commitment and dedication. The Monteci brand strengthens and begins its international expansion.

2012

A New Chapter – The Event Hall

Monteci takes another step forward, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in its history. The winery expands, and the hall for events is inaugurated—a bold and ambitious space designed to host unforgettable events, celebrating the unique beauty of the region.

2013

Set Up Of The Photovoltaic System

The installation of photovoltaic systems allows Monteci to produce over 50% of its energy needs, marking the start of a company-wide sustainability transformation. This step brings the Monteci vineyards closer to achieving full environmental balance.

2014

Lugana – A New Land

Monteci continues its growth with the acquisition of new vineyards in Lugana, expanding its wine portfolio with the iconic Lugana white wine from the southern side of Lake Garda. The company also enhances its marketing and export divisions, reinforcing its international presence.

2015

Our Location, Your Style

Weddings, corporate events, and conventions find a perfect setting within Monteci’s elegant spaces. Hospitality, warmth and wine become the three pillars of the brand’s identity.

2018

Monteci Goes Organic

The journey toward sustainability, which began in 2015, becomes a reality. A detailed zoning study across over 250 hectares of vineyards enables Monteci to preserve the natural ecosystem of its terroirs. Today, the vineyards are certified organic, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in Monteci’s history.
